Company History

ALFA Holdings Limited was founded in 2015, the brainchild of Directors and shareholders who had the vision and foresight to realise the business opportunities and potential of investing in the fast growing, developing economy of investor friendly Rwanda!

The ONE business opportunity that was identified and actively pursued, was that in the absence of local manufacturers of electrical cables & wires, all such products had to be imported, obviously at a cost to both importer/reseller and end users.  The investment choice was thus a no-brainer: establish a manufacturing facility for Electrical Cables & Wires in the capital city of Kigali.  Trading as ALFA CABLES, operations commenced in October 2018.

Early Recognition
During the 4th Edition of the Made in Rwanda Expo, held in December 2018 and graced with the attendance of the Minister of Trade and Industry, ALFA CABLES was presented with the Best Manufacturing Award!

What the Company does

ALFA CABLES, in their ultra-modern factory, manufactures value-for-money, high quality, multi-core cables with Copper & Aluminum conductors of international standards, in sizes up to 300mm². The initial production will however comprise of the following Copper conductor house wires (domestic cables) in single, two, three and four cores:

  • PVC Insulated Rigid and Flexible Cables, sizes 1.5mm² to 25mm²

All cables and wires conform to RS IEC 60227-1:2007, RS EAC 115-117 1996 and RS EAC 137 2000 Standards and are approved by the Rwanda Standards Board (RSB).

Production Capacity
With a sizeable staff compliment that includes seventy Rwandan employees, ALFA CABLES have a production capacity of 50 tons per month on a normal 8-hour single shift. Production can be increased with daily multi-shifts, should demand increase for local consumption and/or exporting to neighboring countries.

Business Model & Concept

Since the inception of ALFA CABLES, our objective was not to get involve in a price war with competitors, but instead dedicate ourselves in providing customers, be it local or cross-border, not only with an extensive range of electrical cables & wires, but also quality, value-for-money products and service beyond expectations.

 The current primary objective is market penetration in an attempt to identify, then satisfy the needs of our local wholesalers and resellers. Secondary objective will be to expand our presence with market penetration in, and exporting to neighbouring countries in East Africa.

 Immediate, ongoing brand awareness will be essential and will be achieved via extensive use of various advertising mediums, be it electronic outdoor/indoor advertising screens, newspapers, local & regional radio and televisions stations, road shows, roadside banners, etc.
